In October 2005, I started searching for a suitable cat for my family (myself, my husband, and 4 sons). Amongst other things, I browsed the internet for all the information I could find. The more information I gathered about the Pixiebob, the more enthousiastic I became about this breed. Their personality (sweet, friendly and calm, but still unique) and the build and appearance of the Pixiebob (strong, wild and lynx-like) appealed to me from the very start.
Me and my family were instantly crazy about the kittens and, luckily for us, there were still two for sale. We quickly decided to buy our first Pixiebob female, Charlie. On December 3, 2005 she came living with us.
On August 6, 2006, Neo joined our family as well. He is our first male cat. Just like Charlie, we bought Neo as a house pet, which means that both cats are spayed and neutered.
In the meantime, I developed such a fondness for this breed that I decided to start up a small hobby-driven cattery in 2008. In this way, I hope to contribute to the availability of this beautiful breed in The Netherlands and the rest of Europe. My goal is to breed Pixiebobs that have excellent qualities, both on the inside and the outside.
On April 18, 2008, Juno was transported all the way from the United States to come live with us. She is from the Black Creek Bobis Cattery in the U.S. and is our first breeding female. In 2009 I picked up our second breeder female Ronja in Sweden with a Swedish breeder. She was pregnant and out of this pregnancy our Emmy was born.
